‘Walk Talk Walk’ Group
Would you welcome the chance of a gentle walk and the opportunity to chat with others?
Come and join the Aspen Medical Practice ‘Walk Talk Walk’ Group. This group is run by members of the Patient Participation Group and Volunteers.
Gloucester is surrounded by beautiful countryside. We have visited local parks and nature reserves and walked alongside canals and rivers. Walks with local guides have also been arranged.
The walks take place on alternate Thursday mornings from 1100 – 1230 and most often finish with the option of a relaxing coffee and chat together.
We post a programme of the walks on the PPG blog section of the Aspen Medical Practice website at, at the practice reception desks and they are sent by email to those walkers who have shared their email address with us for that purpose.
New walkers can be assured of a warm welcome from the group members. We welcome companions and very well-behaved dogs (on a lead at all times).
Interested? We’d love to hear from you. Email us on aspenppg@gmail.com or just turn up at the walk venues as advertised the website Aspen Medical Centre Patient Participation Group: Purpose of the PPG (aspenppg.blogspot.com) or posters in the Practice.

Park Run Practice
Aspen Medical Centre is delighted to have partnered with Gloucester City Parkrun to become a ‘Parkrun Practice’.
For those of you that don’t know about Parkruns, they are free nationwide events – every Saturday morning – that revolve around completing a 5km route in open spaces. Many choose to run but others push buggies, walk their dogs or amble round while chatting with friends. They are run entirely by volunteers which makes them an incredibly supportive and friendly environment to get out and feel good about yourself.
If you want to be competitive then by registering you receive a barcode that records your time and how many runs you have attended, which can also be a great motivator.
By becoming a Parkrun Practice we intend to practice what we preach (with members of staff also joining in), as well as promoting the events through posters and in consultations as a really important way you can take control of improving your own physical and mental health.
