The ‘Every Name A Person’ campaign launched today to highlight the health community’s commitment to ensure that nobody who loses their life as a result of the Covid-19 virus is seen as just a number or forgotten.
It is inevitable that decisions and actions around end of life care may have to be made differently, and that choices we would wish to be available for everyone may not be possible.
The campaign acknowledges that whilst we cannot take away the distress for people of not being with loved ones at the end of their lives, we will do everything in our power to never forget: Every name is a person. Every person a life lived. Every life a story behind it.
The campaign makes clear to patients and loved ones that whilst we may have little time to get to know each person, we will provide comfort, and endeavour to ensure they are not alone in their final moments.
