There are four different ways for adults to ask for an ADHD or Autism assessment.
Please read each option carefully and choose the one that is best for you.
⚠️ Important:
If you pay for any part of your ADHD or Autism assessment, it is not called Right to Choose.
If this happens, we will not take over prescribing medicines, even if you are given a diagnosis or treatment.
Option 1 – Self-Referral to GHC (NHS Service)
- Adults can refer themselves to GHC, which is an NHS service.
- You do not need to see a GP first.
- We have an agreement to take over care if:
- You get a diagnosis and Treatment is prescribed.

Option 3 – Right to Choose with a Different Provider

- A GP appointment is required.

- If there is no shared care agreement, we will not take over prescribing medicines, even if you receive a diagnosis or treatment.
Option 4 – Private Provider Referral
- This option is used if you choose a private provider.
- You must pay for the assessment.
- A GP appointment is required.
- ⚠️ We do not offer shared care with private providers.
- This means we cannot take over prescribing medicines, even if you get a diagnosis or treatment.
What to do:
- Contact the private provider to get their paperwork.
- Fill in the paperwork.
- Email the completed forms to:
aspen.noreply@nhs.net - The reception team will contact you to book a GP appointment before the referral is sent.
