Vaccinations

Travel Vaccinations

If you’re planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world.

In the UK, the NHS routine immunisation (vaccination) schedule protects you against a number of diseases, but does not cover all of the infectious diseases found overseas.

Aspen Medical Practice is able to provide certain travel vaccinations that are available for free on the NHS. These include polio, typhoid, hepatitis A, tetanus, MMR and cholera. Any other vaccinations would need to be obtained privately from an independent travel clinic.

In order to arrange travel vaccinations we require you to have a telephone travel triage appointment to discuss where you are travelling to and what may be required. We will then book you an appointment for the vaccinations or signpost you to a private travel clinic for non-NHS vaccines.

It is important this occurs well in advance of your holiday (at least six weeks in advance) in order to allow time for vaccination appointments to be arranged. Note that some vaccines must be given at least 10 days before travel for them to be effective.

To arrange a travel triage appointment please complete our online form and we will be in touch with you directly.
